During the Spring the English Department organizes a day trip to the British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar to experience the perfect fusion of English and Spanish languages and lifestyles. Of course the macaques are always a memorable highlight of the trip itself.

Here we are at last! Students were amazed at the sight of  the Rock of Gibraltar located near the southwestern tip of Europe on the Iberian Peninsula.

After lunch, students caught sight of the Moorish Castle  which is  a medieval fortification including various buildings, gates and walls.

Most of the Rock’s upper area is covered by a nature reserve, which is home to around 300 Barbary macaques(kind of monkeys). These macaques, as well as a labyrinthine network of tunnels, attract many tourists each year.
